Best tamales ever

As you walk in, you'll be greeted by a very strong corn scent. They process all of their own corn here, and they make their tortillas right in front of you. The employees are all very friendly and were all smiles while serving us. You can get hot tamales on most days, but sometimes they're sold out so it's better to call ahead of time if you're going specifically for tamales. Note that you'll have to eat them at home or in the car, there's no seating as this is not a restaurant. Their corn tortillas are the best I've ever had. They sell flour tortillas, corn chips, guacamole, and queso as well as their tortillas and corn tamales. If you're feeling creative, they also sell husks and masa so you can make your own tamales at home. They DO take credit cards, this place isn't cash only. Totally worth the stop if you're in the neighborhood.

Good and healthy...

Bought tamales yesterday. Very disappointed how Salty they were. Masa was hit and miss on chuck. Found one tamale with total masa, no meat. Buy them all the time but yesterdays Salt issue is dangerously unhealthy for people.

What a great little place with friendly people the tortillas were good the tamales were even better to come down to the park and ate them for lunch couldn't even wait to get home they smelled so good and they were good

I moved here from California a little over year ago and, was looking to find fresh Masa, for Tamales. I asked an elderly lady at HEB while shopping, and she directed me to Jesses..best recommendation ever! It smells amazing when you enter this rather small establishment, the staff very friendly, and was actually assisted with my purchase to my car. Being that I visited several times during December, the young girl remembered me and merly asked how many lbs today. =) I know that this will forever be my go to place for masa.

Best Tamales in Waco. Jesse's has been a Waco staple for many, many years and they carry the tradition forward from generation to generation. The reviews that do not like these tamales are not true Texans who appreciate traditional Tex-Mex tamales, chip, salsa and queso. You can't go wrong with Jesse's.

I love the Queso Blanco and Chips. The tamales are great. I've never had anything of theirs I didn't like.

Returning customer, Christmas time and any time, even covid-19 time - really good tamales! We’re heading over there now for more fresh hot pork tamales; beef tamales & chicken tamales.

They were good tasting but way to thick .If they can thin them way down , they should double their sells .

I ordered the pork tamales & they were HORRIBLE. NO FLAVOR & Hardly any meat. Just HORRIBLE!!!! Like the worse I EVER had in my life.

I often stop by just to get a half dozen tamales and some tortillas for lunch; they have pork, spicy pork and beef hot from the steamer.
